Ombudsman SA handles complaints about SA Government departments.
To access the Ombudsman SA service, it is a requirement that you have initially attempted to resolve your complaint with the relevant government department. If the attempt to resolve the complaint was unsuccessful, Ombudsman SA can help to gain a resolution.
Supports include:
- A decision making process.
- A failure to act or delay in taking action.
- An unreasonable or unfair decision or requirement.
- Staff conduct or service delivery.
- Irregular and unauthorised use of public money or substantial mismanagement of public resources.
The Riverland Community Justice Centre is a community legal centre that offers free, confidential legal advice, referrals and ongoing legal representation to people living or working in the Riverland region.
The Centre has a dedicated local solicitor, a mental health worker as well as highly experienced support staff.
Services include:
- Family Law
- Criminal law
- Employment law
- Civil (e.g. neighbourhood / contract disputes) law.
- Ongoing assistance and court representation, where relevant, are provided at no cost to eligible clients who cannot afford to pay a private solicitor and do not qualify for a grant of legal aid.
The South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT) is a state tribunal that helps people in South Australia to resolve issues within specific areas of laws and conducts reviews of Government decisions.
SACAT resolves issues to do with civil law disputes or applications (landlord / tenant relationships), guardianship and administration, mental health and consent to treatment, administrative law disputes or issues and reviews of certain Government decisions.

Seeds of Affinity (Seeds) is a non-profit, volunteer run community group established by and for women with lived prison experience.
Women at Seeds of Affinity feel a sense of belonging, solidarity and self worth during the difficult transition between prison and the community.
Supports include:
- Meet twice a week to check in with each other and cook and eat a meal together.
- Access support services.
- Learn some new work skills through making and selling skin care products and gourmet treats.
- Supports for women experiencing the prison system.
The Southern Community Justice Centre is a community legal centre that offers free, confidential legal advice, referrals and ongoing legal representation to people living or working in the catchment area including southern metropolitan areas, Fleurieu Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Murray Bridge and Strathalbyn.
The Centre team consists of 5 practicing solicitors, a family advocate, mental health worker and highly experienced support staff.

The Uniting Communities Law Centre provides free, independent, and confidential legal support across South Australia.

The Women’s Legal Service (SA) is a community based legal centre providing free and confidential legal advice, assistance, referrals, and representation to women of South Australia.
Metropolitan Outreach service at the Southern Women’s Community Health Centre & other locations such as Port Adelaide and Elizabeth may be arranged on request. Outreach services to rural, regional and remote areas including Port Augusta, Coober Pedy and the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.
