Senior Card Holders on Adelaide Metro

Seniors Card members are entitled to concessions when travelling on all bus, train and tram services across Adelaide Metro public transport network and selected regional transport services as recognised by the South Australian Department of Planning and Transport Infrastructure.

Your Seniors Card is part of Adelaide's metrocard public transport electronic ticketing system which is operational on all buses, trains and trams. The card incorporates smartcard technology which means you only have to carry one card to access discounts on goods and services and public transport.

Seniors Card holders can travel free on bus, train and trams at all times other than the morning and afternoon peak weekday periods of 7.01 am to 9.00 am and 3.01 pm to 7.00 pm, where seniors discounted concession rates continue to apply (around 50% discount).

The new card features a cashless method of payment for travel during peak times. Simply add credit ($) onto your Seniors Card and the metrocard system will deduct the correct fare. Alternatively, you can opt to purchase single trip tickets, especially if you do not use public transport regularly.

Interstate Seniors Card holders visiting Adelaide can obtain a travel ticket for use during free travel periods by visiting:

- the Adelaide Railway Station Adelaide Metro InfoCentre, North Terrace, Adelaide

- Adelaide Airport's Information Booth at WHSmith Express on the ground floor arrivals area.

Simply show your interstate Seniors Card and you will be issued with a temporary metroticket for use during free travel periods which will be valid for a maximum of 14 days (valid from the date of first use).

For travel during peak times, interstate card holders need to purchase single trip magnetic tickets or a concession metrocard and add credit onto it.
